# Change your password

Update the password used to sign in to Autopilot.

Change your password from Security settings when you know your current password and want to replace it.

## Where to find it

Open **Settings -> Security**, then choose **Password**.

## How it works

Enter your current password, then enter and confirm the new password.

Autopilot checks the current password before saving the new one. If the current password is wrong, the password is not changed.

## Password rules

Your new password must have:

- at least 10 characters
- an uppercase letter
- a lowercase letter
- a number
- a symbol
- a password that is not too common

Autopilot also rejects passwords that have appeared in known data breaches.

## After saving

When the password is updated, the form closes and your account keeps using the new password for future sign-ins.

If you forgot your current password, use the password reset flow from the sign-in screen instead.
