# Create a deal

Open a deal from the Command Center, choose a write-up option and save your deal.

Use the Command Center to create a deal from anywhere in your workspace. Choose the write-up option that suits the information you want to record, then save the deal.

## 1. Open the Command Center

Select the Autopilot icon in the bottom-right corner to open the **Command Center**. Search for **New deal**, then select **New deal — Start a write-up**.

The Command Center is available throughout the workspace, so you can use this same starting point wherever you’re working. **New deal** in the home sidebar is another shortcut when you’re on the home view.

## 2. Choose your write-up option

Open **Write-up** at the top of the form to switch between these options:

| Option | When to use it |
| --- | --- |
| **Quick** | Capture the basics: the customer’s name and contact details, the vehicle and sales setup. |
| **Customer** | Complete a write-up with the customer, including customer-facing pricing, trade-in and finance details, while keeping dealer-only financial fields out of view. |
| **Full** | Record the full deal details available to your account, including internal costs, margins and rebates. |

You can switch options while filling in the deal. The fields shown depend on the selected option and your permissions.

## 3. Fill in the deal

The write-up brings the deal’s information together in a few main areas:

- **Customer:** who’s buying the vehicle and how to contact them.
- **Vehicle:** the vehicle being sold and its stock details.
- **Sales setup:** which part of the dealership the deal belongs to and who’s looking after it.
- **Pricing:** what the customer will pay, including any deposit and add-ons. Full also includes the internal financial details you have access to.
- **Trade-in:** the vehicle being traded and its agreed value.
- **Finance and notes:** how the purchase is being financed and anything else the team needs to know.

Fill in the information you have available. To save, you’ll need a customer name, vehicle make and model, a department and an active salesperson.

## 4. Save the deal

All three save options save your deal as a **draft**. Choose what you want to do next:

- **Save deal:** saves the draft and opens the deal so you can review it or continue working on it.
- **Save & print:** saves the draft and opens the write-up for printing.
- **Save & send:** saves the draft and opens Autopilot Sign so you can send the write-up to the customer for signing.

Printing and signing options appear when your account has access to them. If a validation message appears, complete or correct the indicated fields and save again.

You can reopen the draft to finish the details and work through the remaining steps before it becomes a sale. Read [Understanding draft deals](/docs/understanding-draft-deals) to learn where to find it and what happens next.
