# CRM Pipeline overview

How the CRM Pipeline groups deals by channel, department, stage, and customer lane.

The CRM Pipeline is the stage-based board for deals that are already in the Sales Log. Use it to see where active deals are sitting, move individual deals through pipeline stages, and separate selected customer work into customer lanes.

## Where to find it

Open **CRM Pipeline** from the deals area.

The view is based on the selected month, sales channel, department, and date basis.

## Who can use it

Your deal permissions decide which records you can see.

If you do not have team-wide deal access, Autopilot narrows the pipeline to deals assigned to you. Gross profit and related financial details only show when your permissions allow them.

Moving a deal between stages requires permission to edit the deal status or pipeline stage. Editing the pipeline setup and customer lanes requires customisation access.

## How it works

### Pipeline sections

The board shows the selected department's default pipeline first. Customer lanes appear as their own sections when they have been created for the selected sales channel and department.

Each section has its own columns. The default pipeline uses the department's normal stages. A customer lane can use its own stages.

### Pipeline columns

Each pipeline section has:

| Column type | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| Uncategorised | Deals that do not currently match a configured stage. |
| Pipeline stages | The stages configured for that department or customer lane. |
| Delivered | Deals with the main deal status set to Delivered. |

### How Autopilot chooses a stage

Autopilot places each deal into the first matching stage:

| Priority | Rule |
| --- | --- |
| 1 | If the deal status is **Delivered**, it appears in **Delivered**. |
| 2 | If the deal has been manually moved to a valid pipeline stage, it appears in that stage. |
| 3 | If the deal's progress value is mapped to a pipeline stage, it appears in that mapped stage. |
| 4 | If none of those apply, it appears in **Uncategorised**. |

Dragging a deal to another column sets a manual stage for that deal. Dropping it into **Uncategorised** clears the manual stage. Dropping it into **Delivered** changes the deal status to Delivered.

### Edit pipeline

Use **Edit pipeline** to manage the selected department's default stages and the way deal progress values map into those stages.

Changing the mapping affects how matching deals are grouped when they do not have a manual stage. It does not delete deals.

### Drafts

Use **Show drafts** when you want drafts included in a pipeline section. This preference is saved for your user on the selected sales channel and department.

## Important details

### The pipeline is scoped

Pipeline setup is scoped to the selected sales channel and department. A Retail pipeline can have different stages from a Fleet or Wholesale department under the same channel.

### Delivered is controlled by status

Delivered is not a normal editable pipeline stage. To move a deal into Delivered, the deal status must be Delivered. To move a delivered deal back into an active stage, Autopilot changes the status back to Sold and then applies the selected stage.

### Customer lanes route by customer

If a deal's customer has been assigned to a customer lane, the deal appears in that lane instead of the default pipeline for the selected sales channel and department.

## Troubleshooting

### A deal is in the wrong stage

Check whether the deal has a manual pipeline stage first. If it does not, check the **Edit pipeline** mapping for its deal progress value.

### A deal is in Uncategorised

The deal may have no progress value, its progress value may not be mapped, or the stage it used to point at may have been removed.

### You cannot move a card

Your role may not allow editing the deal status or pipeline stage.

### You cannot edit the pipeline

Pipeline setup and customer lane setup require customisation access.
