# Work with deals in the table

Open a deal and update available fields directly in the Sales log.

Use the **Sales log** to make quick updates without opening every deal. For more detail, open the deal page and work in the relevant section.

Open the **Sales log** through the **workspace navigation**, or open the **Command Center** using the Autopilot button in the bottom-right corner, search for **Sales log** and select it.

## Open a deal

Find the row you need, then select its **customer name** or **deal number** to open the [deal page](/docs/deal-page-overview).

If you cannot find a deal, check your period, date basis, search and filters. See [Find and filter deals](/docs/sales-log-find-and-filter-deals).

## Edit information in the table

1. Select an editable field in the deal’s row.
2. Enter the new value.
3. For a single-line text or number field, press **Enter** or move out of the field to save. Press **Escape** to cancel the edit.

Changes update the deal itself. They are not just changes to your table layout.

If a field shows an error, check the message and correct the value before continuing.

## Use dropdowns and date pickers

Select an available dropdown to choose a new value, such as a salesperson, business manager or status. Date fields open a date picker.

The available options and actions depend on the field and your access. Changing a deal’s status may require additional information or approval checks; follow any message shown.

For delivery, see [Deliver a deal](/docs/deliver-a-deal). For required information, see [Approval rules](/docs/approval-rules).

## When you need more detail

Not every column is editable, and your access determines which changes you can make. If a field has no editing control, open the deal page to review its details and the actions available to you.

Use [Deal history](/docs/deal-history) to review recorded changes, who made them and when.
