Getting started

A short tour of Autopilot — the eight onboarding steps and what you'll have after each one.

Last updated 20 June 2026

Autopilot's onboarding walks you through eight steps, each of which sets up one part of the app. The whole thing takes roughly ten minutes and leaves you with a dealership ready to write its first deal.

You can come back later and change any of these — nothing is locked in.

The eight steps

1. Your dealership name

The display name across the app and on customer-facing documents. You can edit it later from Settings → Dealership → General.

2. Branding

Upload your logo and pick an accent colour. Both appear on print sheets and PDFs sent to customers. Editable any time from Settings → Dealership → Branding.

3. Sales channels

The way your dealership groups its sales — usually one channel per brand you sell, plus extras for used cars, fleet, or wholesale if those have their own teams. Your sales log, targets, and reports all get organised by these.

4. Import data

Optional. If you have an existing system you're moving from — SalesLogs, a spreadsheet, anything — bring your data across here. See Migrating from SalesLogs for the step-by-step.

5. Team

Invite your team. Three roles:

  • Owner — full access, can change settings.
  • Manager — approves deals, sees financials, manages targets.
  • Salesperson — writes deals, sees their own pipeline and progress.

Invites go out by email and auto-accept when the person logs in.

6. Customise the sales log

Pick which columns appear by default in your team's sales log. You can also create saved views (like "Open deals only" or "Awaiting delivery this week") that anyone on the team can switch between.

7. Alerts

Pick which checks Autopilot should run on your deals — missing VINs, unsigned contracts, stale finance approvals, that kind of thing. Anything flagged appears on the dashboard so it doesn't slip by.

8. Vehicle catalogue

Pre-load the vehicles you sell so the deal form auto-fills make, model, RRP, and cost when a salesperson picks one. You can skip this step and add vehicles later from Stock → Models.

What's next

Once you finish onboarding you land on the dashboard. From there:

  • Write your first deal at /deals/new (or click "Add deal" from the sales log)
  • Invite the rest of your team from Settings → Team
  • Set monthly targets per channel from Settings → Dealership → Targets

If you get stuck anywhere, the docs index has guides for every screen, or you can request help directly.
