Set up two-factor authentication
Add or remove authenticator app verification for your account.
Two-factor authentication adds a 6-digit code from an authenticator app when Autopilot needs to verify it is really you.
Where to find it
Open Settings -> Security, then choose Authenticator app.
Set it up
- Choose Authenticator app.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- If you cannot scan the QR code, copy the manual setup code into your authenticator app.
- Continue to verification.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
- Confirm the code.
When the code is accepted, the authenticator app is paired with your Autopilot account.
If the code does not work
Check that the code is 6 digits and that you are using the current code from your authenticator app. Authenticator codes expire quickly, so wait for the next code if the current one is nearly finished.
Disable two-factor authentication
If two-factor authentication is already enabled, the Security panel shows Authenticator app as secure. Use Disable to remove it.
After disabling it, Autopilot refreshes the page and the authenticator app is no longer required for that account.
