The Fill-the-Gaps wizard

Spell-check style — walk every deal with missing data and fill the blanks one at a time.

Last updated 20 June 2026

Most dealerships have deals with bits of data missing — a stock number that didn't get entered, a VIN waiting on the importer, a chassis number you meant to add. The Fill-the-Gaps wizard walks you through every gap, one field at a time, like a spell-checker for your sales log.

How to open it

Click the Fill the gaps button in the right-side panel of the dashboard or sales log. It's a Companion-style panel that opens on the right.

What it walks through

Out of the box, it surfaces deals missing:

  • VIN
  • Chassis number
  • Stock number
  • Order number
  • Estimated delivery date
  • Customer phone, email, or address
  • Trade-in vehicle details (if trade-in is on)

You can configure the field list in Settings → Dealership → Fill the gaps fields.

The flow

  1. Open the wizard. The first deal with a missing field appears in the panel.
  2. Left side — the deal opens automatically so you have full context.
  3. Right side — one input for the missing field. Type, hit Enter.
  4. The wizard moves to the next missing field on the same deal, then the next deal.

You can skip any field with Next without filling. Skipped fields don't get re-prompted in the same session — they'll surface again next time you run the wizard.

When to use it

  • Friday afternoon — clean up the week's backlog before the weekend.
  • End of month — make sure every delivered deal has its VIN and rego filled in for accounting.
  • Whenever the importer drops VINs on you — paste them in faster than opening every deal individually.

Mutex with other right-side panels

The right side of the screen can hold one of: Companion AI, Notifications, Chat, or Fill the Gaps. Opening one closes the others. There's only ever one panel competing for your attention at a time.

Custom field gaps

Custom fields you've added (via the deal form builder) can also be surfaced by the wizard. Mark a custom field as "include in fill-the-gaps" when creating it, and any deals missing a value for that field will surface alongside the built-in checks.
